The Gospel doesn't need "church"

Rediscovering our mission #13 I 9.11.11

Acts 8:1 - 8:8

Saul's problematic assumptions that we are stll impacted by today:

1. Kiling important leaders would stall out the movement.

     a. Lie: The church is identified by its pastor

     b. Truth: The church is bigger than its leaders

2. Removing their ability to gather together would make them ineffective.

     a. Lie: Church happens on Sunday mornings

     b. Truth: The church doesn't need to be gathered

3. Scattering them across the world would make them powerless.

     a. Lie: The Church is a local gathering of Christians

     b. Truth: Scattering the church spreads the gospel
