Life-Giving Truth
Read this phrase…
I am saved by grace…
What does this phrase mean?
What does it take to fully understand this phrase? (Try to emphasize the importance of recognizing our own brokenness. We cannot understand grace unless we understand what sin has done to our lives)
Read Romans 5:6-11
What is that passage saying about us? What is it saying about God? What is the gift we are receiving in this passage? (Grace)
Do you see yourself as deserving of God’s grace? Does the way you live your life line up with that answer?
What would a person’s life look like that fully understands the power of grace in their lives? Does your life look like that?
What would it take for you to more fully understand God’s grace and begin living it out in the moments of life, and in your relationships?
What is the problem with a person claiming the benefits of God’s grace, but practically speaking refusing to give it away?
Have you ever found yourself in that position?
Do you think it’s possible to be “Saved by grace,” if you are unwilling to give it away to others? Why or why not?
Tell yourself the truth all week, I am saved by grace to live graciously. Recognize daily how amazing the grace of God is in comparison to your personal brokenness, and ask God to see giving that away as an incredible gift.
Challenge people to dive into next week’s passage (Romans 1:1-7) on their own, searching for the life-giving truth.
